Having started out in the merchant navy many years ago, I followed a fairly standard path of moving up through the ranks to Master and then moved ashore, working in ship management, salvage, towage and barge operations. Then I moved back into ship management as a Contract Manager for specialized vessels working closely with government departments.
This operation is load testing a new vessel’s crane after fitting a dynamic load cell.
I now work as an independent consultant, recent projects include working on vessel security, submitting ISPS documentation and liaising with Class, working as Tow Master for vessel moves and with submersible barges.
As an Associate Member of the UK Harbour Masters Association I am able to draw on my experience working with the ports industry to support your port.
Having undertaken recent work under the auspices of the Workboat Code, I engaged with the Workboat Association which leads in driving best practices and promoting the highest safety initiatives.
